At the end of a long growing season back in 2007 a group of local organic farmers decided to throw a party to blow off steam and raise some money for a local food security cause.
Organic grain farmer Thor Oeschner hosted the gathering, dubbed “Farmageddon”, in pastures and on the stubble of recently harvested crops. Friends, and friends of friends (plus their friends too) were invited and the party was on!
Bands set up and played throughout the night. Hat’s were passed, donations were collected, and T-shirts sold. In the end a good sum of cash was raised and a great time was had by all.
Today we are using the original Farmageddon design to raise money for another good cause. The Ithaca Farmers Market is forming a nonprofit to help it further causes like: Food Security, education, business incubation, and fostering an inclusive public gathering space.
100% of Proceeds will go to this cause – Thanks for your support!
